LINDA COSGROVE
Linda Cosgrove's work revives 16th century techniques such as oil painting on copper, using bold contrasts between light and dark. Her art is a synthesis of Renaissance and Baroque styles, infused with dashes of dark humor and occasional elements of surrealism.
After receiving her BFA from the University of South Carolina, Cosgrove began to develop her technique through extensive study of Old Master paintings throughout museums, churches and private collections in Europe and South America.
Linda Cosgrove arrived in San Francisco in 1975, where she lived for twenty five years before moving to Marin County with her husband and daughter. Today, the artist’s works are held in important collections throughout the United States and abroad.
